01. Mizoram sets Guinness Dance Record (Traditional)
On March 12, 2010, Mizoram achieved a remarkable milestone by setting a Guinness World Record for the largest bamboo dance ever performed. As part of the Chapchar Kut festival in Aizawl, a total of 10,736 participants came together to perform the traditional Cheraw dance. The dancers formed an extraordinary spectacle, stretching along a 3-kilometer road and onto a football field, skillfully coordinating their movements with 6,710 bamboo sticks. This awe-inspiring event was more than just a cultural performance it was a profound display of tradition, unity, and pride that captured global attention.
02. Nghah Loh Dawr (Unattended Shop)
Nghah Loh Dawr is a traditional market culture in Mizoram, meaning "shop without shopkeepers." Goods are displayed along roadsides, and customers leave payment in a box, trusting each other. This practice promotes honesty and kindness.
03. Silent City Of India
Aizawl, the capital city of Mizoram, is called the "Silent City of India" because people rarely honk while driving. Vehicles move calmly and politely, even during heavy traffic, without honking or rushing to overtake. The roads stay peaceful and quiet, showing how disciplined the drivers in the city.
04. Tlawnngaihna
Tlawmngaihna, literally means to be helpful and not be a burden on people around you."Tlawmngaihna is a code of conduct at the very basic level, it means being honest, kind and helpful to others, but on a larger level, it's about being selfless.
Tlawmngaihna shows itself in daily life, such as helping strangers or sharing things with neighbors.
05. Thlan laih (Community Graving)
Mizos ( male ) who missed the overnight vigil would rise early the following morning and gather at the graveyard, where community leaders guided them on the place to dig. At times, even those Mizos ( Male ) who attended the vigil joined them at dawn, lending their hands to prepare the final resting place.

06. Young Mizo Association (Y.M.A)
The Young Mizo Association (YMA) is the largest and most comprehensive non-profit, secular, nongovernmental organisation of the Mizo people. It was established on 15 June 1935, originally as the Young Lushai Association (YLA), which was later renamed as the "Young Mizo Association" in 1947. It was initiated by the Welsh Christian missionaries who understood the need of cultural conservation of the Mizo tribe, who were under pressure of political and social modernisations. In 1977, it was registered under Indian Societies Registration Act.
The Mizos uphold three core principles:
Make wise use of leisure time (Hun âwl hman ṭhat).
Work towards the progress of Mizo society (Zofate hmasawnna ngaihtuah).
Honour and live by Christian values (Kristian nun dan ṭha ngaihsân).
07. No Vehicle Zone
Aizawl Declares No Vehicle Zone Ahead of Christmas as Festive Spirit Sweeps City. Every year during Christmas and New Year celebrations, Aizawl city sets up a "no vehicle zone" in the main shopping area from 10 am to 4 pm. People from all parts of Mizoram visit the city to shop, listen to roadside shows making the streets very crowded with beautiful spirits . The zone helps shoppers move around safely without vehicles getting in their way.
08. Mizoram Super League (MSL)
The Mizoram Super League (MSL) is one of the highest basketball competitions in the Indian state of Mizoram. It is organized by the Mizoram Basketball Association and began in 2015 and it has run over 10 seasons . Usually, the league includes up to eight teams. At the season's end, the lowest-ranked team moves down, while the top team from the First Division moves up to replace it. Many players from this league are selected to participate in national competitions, especially the Elite Pro Basketball League.
Besides basketball, the MSL unites the local community and highlights Mizoram’s sports culture. It attracts large audiences, making it one of India's most popular basketball events. The league celebrates local talent, community spirit, and sportsmanship.

10. Chana Pâwl or Chhuanthar Kohhran
Ziona (born Zionnghaka; 21 July 1945 – 13 June 2021) was the leader of Lalpa Kohhran Thar, a polygamous Christian sect in Mizoram, India, also known as Chana Pâwl. He was widely recognized as the head of what was often described as the world’s largest family, with dozens of wives, over a hundred children, and numerous grandchildren, all living together in a large, multi-storey residence in the village of Baktawng.
